Former
Pacific Limited Board Member, Marketing Director, and Media
and Public Relations
Director, countless hours have been spent on the road and
planning
Pacific Limited/Union Pacific Steam Excursions since 1990.
I grew up around Railroads. I grew up
in Echo, UT during the steam to diesel transition on the UP.
It was routine to see the Big Boys and Challengers come into
Echo to load up with coal and water before attacking Echo
Canyon on their way to Wyoming. My grandfather was the station
agent and Telegrapher at Echo. The picture on the left is
of me in Echo. that's a challenger loco in the background.
My father, uncles, cousins, were, and still are UP employees.
Sharlene, (Charlie) my wife, also came from a railroad family.
Her father was a signal maintainer for the Southern pacific,
Her mother was a telegrapher on the Western Pacific between
Salt Lake City and Winnemucca NV.
I am an active member of the Union Pacific Historical Society,
Promontory chapter National Railway Historical Society.
Having studied photography at Weber State
University in Utah, plus attending many cources at UCLA and
other instutiions, I also include commercial photograpry in
my resume. Check the photo galleries at Deep Creek RR and
Wasatch Media for examples of more than 30 years of rail photography
in the western states.
